Mindful Moments in Japan
After Justin arrived in Japan, we took a bullet train to Shizuoka, where we went to slow down and rest, spending a day & night at a beautiful Japanese Onsen (natural geothermic hot springs) Ryokan (Japanese-style traditional inn). We went to Izu Kogen in Ito City (staying at the lovely Kamenoi Hotel), before making our way to Osaka as a home base to visit various Japanese friends!
After socializing a lot for a couple of days, we were craving some chill downtime together, so we headed by train to Ehime prefecture where we found the world’s oldest hot spring (Dōgo onsen in Matsuyama City, which is believed to be 3,000 years old, and is the bathhouse that the onsen in the Ghibli movie “Spirited Away” is modeled after!). ♨️
It was so good to finally have a day with literally nothing but taking baths, eating, and reading on the agenda! Japan excels at providing these Onsen Oasis 24-hour escapes from the grind; it was SO relaxing and rejuvenating! ☺️
Matsuyama seems to be a city of old and new-stay tuned for a tour of some of the newest, nicest Anytime Fitness locations I’ve ever visited-soon! 💪
