A Berry Minor Mindset Shift That Bears Major Fruit 🍓
Ever get irrationally annoyed over something small? 🙋♀️
This morning, I dropped a container of raspberries on the floor—and my first reaction was irritation.
But then… mindfulness kicked in.
As I sank into a squat to clean them up, I noticed how easily I could get into that deep squat position—thanks to my daily mobility work. 🙃 Then I realized our floors were freshly cleaned, so the raspberries were still totally edible. 🍓 And finally it hit me:
if one of my biggest challenges today is dropping some berries… life must be pretty good right now. 😅
This is what shifting from a fixed mindset (“Ugh, this is so annoying”) to a growth mindset (“What can I notice or learn here?”) looks like in real life. It’s not about ignoring hard feelings—that’s toxic positivity. Mindfulness allows us to pause, and strategies like noticing and naming our emotions, and reframing them, often can allow our first (often reactive, sometimes irrational) feelings to pass, creating space for a new (usually more proactive or open) perspective.
So if something irritating happens to you this week (because if you're a human, it probably will 😅), try pausing to ask:
What’s the second feeling waiting to show up?
