As I wrap up my 💯 Miles Challenge for June, my body is telling me…I’m TIRED 😴😅
This topic came up in our Build with Becky community, and we decided that the challenge for July will honor that vibe and lean into rest+recovery! ❤️🩹
These are the areas of fitness that we often overlook, skimp on, or neglect…but guess what? Rest, Sleep, Stress management, and Recovery are the cornerstone of your fitness journey…or should be!
🙅♀️ If you’re not sleeping well, everything feels harder - from your workouts, to staying on track with nutrition, to showing up well for your family, friends, work, and even for yourself! 🙅♀️ You don’t actually get stronger while working out…you create damage. 🙅♀️ You can’t get into deeper ranges of motion without mobility, flexibility, and sometimes trigger point or self-massage / self-myofascial release 🙅♀️ If you’re stressed out of your mind multiple times a day…nothing feels managemeable…least of all getting to the gym for a hard workout!
☀️ Getting morning sun is the first step to better sleep! 🧘♀️ Mobility unlocks your ability to get into deeper ranges of motion and get stronger, more safely 😮💨 Your breathe is a simple tool that is always with you, and mindful moments are just a breath away 😴 Simple, consistent sleep/wake times, and a few other easy-to-implement sleep hygiene practices can make all the difference to your ability to sleep more deeply and restoratively
