This is 39! 🥳
This is 39! 🥳
As the years go by, I’ve learned that each and every birthday (and really every damn day) is a cause for celebration. 🎉
Today, I remember and honor at least 3 strong, capable women I grew up with who will never get to turn 39. Women whose partners never get to celebrate another birthday with them, whose kids will never get to have them at their graduations, weddings, and their own birthdays. I GET to be here. I GET to turn 39 and see wrinkles and grey hair start to show up, and if I’m lucky, next year, the big 4-0! 🤩 How lucky am I? 😍
While I truly believe that we all have a complicated relationship with the idea of aging and facing our own mortality, one thing I’m immensely proud of in the last several years is changing my professional life to be more aligned with the person I want to be and how I want to live out my days. 💗
Build with Becky also turned 1 year old this week! 🥳 Sometimes, it’s really easy to lose sight of your progress, day-to-day, week to week. But what I’ve learned these last six or so years of training, and of personal and professional growth and career change, is that if you zoom out far enough, and give yourself enough runway, the progress and change you can make is undeniable. I firmly believe that showing up for yourself, day-in; day-out, and practicing consistency, rather than striving for perfection, is the key to progress in any area of life. For me, it just happened to be that strength training was the vehicle that unlocked that lesson! 🤷♀️ 💪
So here’s to 39! 🥳 So grateful to be here, for the secure and loving relationships in my life, the meaningful work I’ve chosen for myself, and for this journey that continues to unfold in new and unexpected ways everyday. 🥰 Thanks for sharing the road! 🤗
