Rest, Reset, Restart!
Hi there! 👋 Since it’s back-to-school season + I’m settling back into my favorite routines, it feels like a good time to re-introduce myself!
I’m Becky, a former K-12 Spanish and English teacher who career-changed during pandemic burnout into personal training—which, in hindsight, makes perfect sense. I’d always been a fitness enthusiast, but studying evidence-based training felt like teaching a new subject—one I loved + I got to apply what I learned to shift mindsets+build lasting habits.
A couple years later, I made a leap from in-person coaching to Build with Becky. It started as a beta test with supportive friends, + now lives in a custom web app that makes training simple, sustainable+flexible for life. (Thanks, Justin!)
At the core, what I care most about is growth—physical, mental, emotional. That’s why I expanded my business to Better with Becky, a space to explore strength, health, behavior+mindset in ways that go beyond just workouts.
Lately my “perfect day” looks like cozy coffee mornings, strength training+conditioning, reading, learning, + travel…with a little less hustle than before. Last week I made it official: 8 years later, I’m (finally) embracing my retirement!
Better with Becky isn’t going anywhere, and you can still catch me semi-regularly on my podcast. But this next chapter may look a little less coach-Becky and a little more just-me-Becky—sharing what feels meaningful in the moment. ✨
